Our team partnered with Latta Kennedy Builders to reimagine this kitchen in Wayne, PA to feel both effortlessly timeless and warmly inviting. The project encompasses a thoughtfully designed kitchen and scullery addition, along with a renovated breakfast room and butler’s pantry.
As a tribute to the home’s rich history, dating back to 1901, the renovation carefully balances period-authentic craftsmanship with modern functionality. The newly expanded space is defined by intricate custom cabinetry and finely detailed millwork, each element thoughtfully crafted by our team to honor the character of the original home while enhancing its livability.
Radiant-heated heart pine flooring anchors the space with warmth and authenticity, complemented by reclaimed custom heart pine trim and mouldings crafted by our team. The three windows above the sink are original to the home, serving as a defining architectural detail. Every new window introduced in the remodel was meticulously custom-crafted to mirror their proportions, profiles, and character, ensuring a seamless, indistinguishable integration throughout. Layers of depth and texture emerge through beadboard-accented walls paired with bold, expressive wallpaper, enriching the home’s historic narrative. Our custom-crafted range hood integrates seamlessly within the surrounding cabinetry, echoing the beadboard detailing for a cohesive and tailored aesthetic.
Site-finished custom cabinetry crafted by our team features beaded, framed inset construction, with door and drawer profiles meticulously modeled after the home’s original millwork. A dedicated baker’s station introduces both charm and utility, distinguished by metal mesh cabinet doors designed to subtly reference the home’s original radiators. Inside, the cabinetry was carefully curated to support modern living without compromising visual harmony. Thoughtful storage solutions include peg drawers, a custom spice insert, adjustable dividers, trash pull-outs, and roll-out trays, each designed for efficiency, organization, and ease of use.
The newly added scullery adjacent to the kitchen features our eased-edge open-framed cabinetry and beadboard walls, providing additional storage and prep space while maintaining the home’s cohesive design. In the Butler’s pantry, newly integrated appliances including an ice maker and secondary custom paneled dishwasher enhance both function and convenience, creating a dedicated support space for entertaining and daily living.
Together, the kitchen, scullery, breakfast room, and butler’s pantry form a cohesive and richly detailed renovation. The result is an elevated, yet welcoming, environment that gracefully honors the past while thoughtfully serving the present.
